Teaching Philosophy
I believe learning is a journey—one that asks you to immerse, reflect, and practice.
Communication is a powerful tool for personal growth and community engagement. Whether you're speaking with a loved one, working in a team, or leading a campus initiative, the way you communicate can shape your relationships, your opportunities, and even your sense of self. My classes are designed to help you become more aware, confident, and skilled in how you communicate with others.
I create learning experiences that take you beyond the classroom. You'll work with local organizations, conduct case studies of existing challenges, and see the real-world impact of strong communication. You’ll reflect deeply through guided narrative journaling—connecting course concepts to your lived experiences. And you’ll apply what you learn to solve problems, support causes, and create change in your community. Course assignments may push you, but I will support you every step of the way.
My goal is to meet you where you are and help you get where you want to be—academically, professionally, and personally. I believe in your ability to grow through effort, reflection, and meaningful practice. I'm here to guide, challenge, and cheer you on as you develop communication skills that will serve you for a lifetime.
An interpersonal communication class teaches you how to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings—to build stronger, healthier relationships in every part of your life—personal, academic, and professional. In a world where misunderstandings are common and connection often feels surface-level, this class helps you become a better listener, a more thoughtful speaker, and a more emotionally intelligent person. You’ll learn how to navigate difficult conversations, manage conflict, express yourself clearly, and understand others more deeply—all of which are essential for success in today’s collaborative, fast-paced world.
Take a public speaking class to find your voice and use it for impact.
Public Speaking isn’t just about standing at a podium—it’s about learning to speak with clarity, confidence, and purpose in any setting. In this course, you'll build practical skills to organize your ideas, manage anxiety, and connect authentically with an audience. More than that, you'll learn how to use your voice to advocate for yourself and your community—whether you're speaking up in a classroom, leading a meeting, or championing a cause you care about. Through real-world topics and engaging presentations, you’ll develop the tools to inspire change and make your message matter.
